Charlevoix, Michigan is the perfect SUP / Stand Up Paddle location. Water abounds with three lakes to choose from; which offer infinite and diverse launch sites.
Lake Charlevoix, with it’s crystal clear waters, sandy beaches and post card scenery, stretches fifteen miles from Charlevoix to Boyne City on the main lake. The south arm of the lake takes you through the narrows, past the ferry and on to East Jordan. There is no shortage of excellent paddling locations on this lake. The truly adventurous might do a down-wind run of the whole lake.
Round Lake sits beneath the watchful eye of Charlevoix. This picture perfect village is steeped in history. Take your paddleboard around the lake to view the timeless boathouses replete with vintage water craft. Stop for lunch without stopping: “Two Guys & a Grill” cook up great burgers and more on a pontoon boat anchored in the little lake.
Venture out Pine River to the big waters of Lake Michigan just before sunset to watch the day end…
